Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Cochin
Welcome to South India Tour of Kerala! On your arrival at Cochin airport, you will get a warm welcome by Wander India Tours’ representative. Later, he will guide you to the pre-booked hotel. Refresh yourself for while and then leave to explore the famous attractions of the city including Mattancherry Palace, Kerala Folklore Museum, Santa Cru Basilica, Maritime Museum, etc. In the evening, you will walk through the local markets of Cochin city. Later, return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 Cochin – Munnar
After breakfast in the morning, you will leave for Munnar. It is one of the most beautiful hill stations in the country, surrounded by thick greenery all around. On your arrival, check-in at the hotel and then visit Tea Plantations which are prime attractions of Munnar. In the evening, visit Thirumeny Cultural Centre where you can enjoy the Indian Kathakali show and Indian Martial Arts – Kalari program. Later, you will move back to your hotel for a mighty dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 Munnar Sightseeing
The 3rd day of the tour will go into exploring the famous attractions of Munnar hill station. After breakfast, you will visit Eravikulam National Park where you will come across different species of birds and animals. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch and then explore other attractions such as Echo Point, Thommankthu Waterfalls, and others. In the evening, enjoy the nature walk nearby to your hotel. After a delicious dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 Munnar – Thekkady
Post breakfast in the morning, you will leave for Thekkady. Thekkady is quite popular for Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. After reaching, check-in at the pre-booked resort. Later, you will visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to different wildlife creatures such as Tigers, Elephants, Bison, Langur, Sambar, Wild Boar, and a lot more. In the evening, visit Kadathanadan Kalari Centre where Indian Martial Art, Kalari is taught. If time permits, you can go for local shopping in the local markets. Later, return back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 Thekkady – Kumarakom
The next destination of the tour is Kumarakom which is quite popular for its backwaters. After a mighty breakfast, you will leave for Kumarakom. The place is also home to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and filled with paddy fields and coconut trees. After reaching, check-in at the hotel. Later visit a Kumarakom bird sanctuary which is home to 1000s of bird species. Also, go on a backwater ride along the river Vembanad. If time permits in the evening, you can visit an Ayurvedic Massage center. Later enjoy dinner at any south Indian restaurant. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 Kumarakom – Alleppey
After breakfast in the morning, you will leave for the next destination which is Alleppey. Upon your arrival, check-in at the hotel/houseboat. Rest of the day is free at leisure, you can choose your own activities. In the evening, you can enjoy the Ayurvedic massage. Later return back to your hotel/houseboat for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 Alleppey- Kuttanad - Alleppey
Enjoy the breakfast in the morning and then go for a short trip to Kuttanad, also known as the Rice Bowl of India. Here, you will get to witness green parrots on the paddy fields. Besides, you can try the local beverage ‘Toddy’ here at Kuttanad. Moreover, you can take a motorbike on rent to explore the in and around places of Kuttanad. In the evening, enjoy Ayurvedic Spa to relax your mind, body, and soul. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 Alleppey – Kovalam
The next destination of the tour is Kovalam which is quite popular for its beaches. After reaching Kovalam, check in at the pre-booked hotel. Later, you will leave to explore the famous attractions of Kovalam including Kowdiar Palace, Kovalam beach, and other attractions. The evening is free to enjoy your own activities. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 Kovalam – Kanyakumari
After a mighty breakfast in the morning, you will leave for Kanyakumari. It is one of the spiritual places in India and called the land of Swami Vivekananda. Once there, check-in at the hotel. Later, visit Vivekananda rock Memorial which is situated in the midst of the sea. Other places to explore in Kanyakumari are Thanumalayan Temple, Meenakshi Temple, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Wax Museum of Kanyakumari, and others. In the evening, you can explore some of the local markets for shopping. Later, enjoy a South India dinner and then stay overnight at the hotel.
